Drone based aerial imagery can achieve a much more detailed, precise and up-to-date analysis of the Right of Way (ROW) situation of your linear infrastructure. More
cost effective than helicopters and with higher resolution and availability than satellites. SKYLAB offers advanced monitoring solutions for electricity and gas transmission grid operations, rail
tracks as well as motorways to ensure the most efficient use and optimised timing of on-the-ground resources.
Using advanced 3D modelling methodologies the pathway of the linear infrastructure is determined. This is the basis for determining the level of risk posed by the surrounding vegetation
Above ground electric transmission lines need to keep a minimum distance from vegetation. The results of our 3D modelling reveal the height and crown cover of any higher vegetation within a defined corridor. A risk map shows vegetation that is critically close as well as the diameter of the potential impact zone of any falling tree. Based on this, projections about growth rates and a likely increase in risk from future growth can be made.
The same methodology can of course be applied to rail track transmission lines.
For gaspipelines our algorithms help to detect trees and other unwanted vegetation on the pathway. In addition, any illegal or undesired buildings or structure can also clearly be identified.
This ensures a complete and up-to-date Right of Way (ROW) picture and enables the optimised management of on-the-ground ressources and actions to be taken.
Besides vegetation managment along motorways, our algorithms can determine the actual slope of the road cover as well as ditches. Also cracks or other structural faults can be revealed. Automatic image recognition can be applied to detect any missing or faulty road markings.
